Four Tips for the COVID-19 Quarantine

It is finally spring! By this time of the year, we were all expecting to be out in the sunlight and drinking fruity cocktails with our significant others or even by ourselves. Still, neither of those things are happening and in either part of the world.

The current situation with the coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) is quite serious and risky. The recommendation from doctors and experts all around the world is to stay inside and, in that way, we’ll take care of each other. Yet, this is easier said than done because quarantine is extremely hard. Not being able to go outside when you please? Yes, very difficult but that’s the great service we’re doing to the world right now despite how difficult it is.

We want to make you see that quarantining doesn’t have to be a maddening task. That’s the reason why we want to offer you four tips for the coronavirus quarantine.

  • Tip 1 – Plan your mornings.

Let’s admit something: during these days, when you don’t have to go out, it is quite tempting to sleep the whole morning and wake up in the middle of the afternoon. That’s why our first recommendation is to always wake up at a specific hour to start your routine. Don’t forget to start your day with a hot drink of your choices such as coffee or tea.

Remember: create a routine for yourself and never start your day without breakfast, a piece of advice that takes up to another point.

  • Tip 2 – Try to plan what you’re gonna eat.

We know it might sound tedious but if you don’t have anything else to do during the day, planning the food you’re going to eat in a safe spent time, most especially if you’re a certified foodie.

This might help you in creating safe food habits for the future. Try to imagine what would you like to eat considering what you have in the fridge (a bit of advice that takes us to another point).

  • Tip 3- Go to the supermarket every 5 or 4 days.

It’s important to keep ourselves home as much as possible in this situation of crisis, which means you shouldn’t go to the supermarket to restock your fridge every single day.

Try, at your best, to go to the supermarket every 5 or 4 days or just important perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables or milk are running out of your kitchen.

And please, please, please don’t be one of those people who buy all the toilet paper or antibacterial gel they can get. Think about the others who need those items too.

  • Tip 4 – Binge watch TV shows and movies.

Netflix and chill never sounded so good until now. This quarantine time is the perfect time to binge-watch the TV you haven’t had the chance to finish during the normal days. Two TV shows you must see are Breaking Bad and Mad Men!

If you have other online platforms you can enjoy TV shows such as Game of Thrones and The Sopranos (both of them in HBO GO) or The Handmaid’s Tale (in Hulu).

Additionally, take time to watch some movies especially if these movies are part of a trilogy such as The Godfather, The Lord of the Rings or Back to the Future.

These are some of the most important tips we can give you to go through this difficult time. Remember to keep yourself safe at home, this is the best way to flatten the curve and keep the coronavirus from spreading.
